Eastland Youth — Parent Updates
Our First Youth Night: Who Says What You’re Worth?
• Week 1 Recap
Our first Tuesday Youth Night is in the books! Thank you to the families who helped us begin this new chapter at Eastland. We’re thankful for the opportunity to walk alongside your students as they learn about God and grow in faith.
We know we have plenty of learning, growing, and work ahead of us. Even with the nerves of getting started, we’re committed to following God’s leading, showing up for your students, and growing alongside them. Your prayers and encouragement mean a great deal to us.
Our opening lesson, “Who Says What You’re Worth?”, centered on Genesis 1:26–31 and Psalm 139:13–16. Its main message was simple: our value begins with the God who made us in His image.
Young people hear plenty of messages about what makes someone matter—appearance, popularity, grades, talent, and other people’s opinions. Scripture gives us a lasting foundation: every person has God-given dignity. Our failures don’t erase that dignity, and we all need the grace and transformation Jesus brings.
That truth also shapes how we treat others. Someone who gets overlooked, left out, or treated differently matters to God, too.
Continue the conversation at home
Ask your student: “How does knowing someone is made in God’s image change the way we should treat them?”
Try putting that into practice together this week: notice someone who is often overlooked and find a simple way to include or encourage them.
Coming up next
Tuesday, October 13, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., we’ll continue with Week 2: “What Went Wrong?”
Please pray with us that Eastland Youth will be a place where students feel welcome, ask honest questions, and learn to follow Jesus.
